MEET PARISA E.

Picture this: a great family and friends, awesome apartment in San Francisco, a growing  career at one of the world's most recognizable companies (Yahoo!)... but something wasn't right.  I'm sitting in my apartment...  looking at my to-do list when a feeling of heaviness came pounding in my chest...What is happening? The walls are caving in and I can’t breath… Am I dying? Help! Help! After learning from the doctor that I had experienced my first panic attack, I was puzzled. Some people just take a pill and try to move on, but I had to explore more deeply.

I felt like I was doing everything pretty well, but where was this underlying fear coming from that would rear its ugly head every once in a while? The more I thought about it, I realized that my anxiety had been with me since childhood, and now it had gotten to a point where my body wasn’t letting me get away with it anymore.  I was shocked that I was able to suppress it for so long. Now I realize that our society labels these types of things as "weaknesses" so most of us aren't capable of knowing what to do when these feelings arise.

Hence my journey to find a better way of living began. I tried everything from therapy, workshops, retreats, and tons of books to find that there is no magic formula. Throughout my learning process I have come to realize that, although we may be on different paths, as humans, we share similar struggles.  Sharing your struggles with others can be a difficult thing but at the same time it can be extremely healing. My work consists of creating a safe space for people to open up and share their challenges while I coach them through whatever arises. It fascinates me to develop in this area and to see life differently each day. I am so in love with this work that I have now devoted my life to it.  My goal is to help people connect and learn from one another.
